2020 Luxury Gift Guide

Luxury Gifts

Well…we’ve been working our way up to this. Luxury items. Some I own, some I covet. None are necessary but all are fabulous. I would not consider any of these cheap – but they are all long term investments which pay dividends in other ways.

Workout Warriors

I did a lot of research and testing before I landed on this one. While I enjoy outdoor running, where I live it can easily get too dark, too unsafe (I’m in a city), too hot (southern state), and occasionally too cold. Especially when I want to avoid sharing air with others during this pandemic, I found that a home treadmill suited me best. I waited MONTHS to pull the trigger on this purchase because I had to be sure it would get used.

3G Cardio Elite Runner Treadmill ($3,000 – $4,000) This baby is a must have for me. It has an extra long running bed (to accommodate the mister at 6′ 6″). It is pro quality and will last me a lifetime. This baby has incline, programs, built in USB with speakers, heart rate monitoring. It feels like being in a good gym and beats any hotel workout treadmill. The only one I would rate close to this is the Pelaton treadmill but I find the running deck slightly undersized for me and the man.

Tip: Spring for the white glove service, it’s a beast at close to 400 lbs in the box!

Also get an extra long treadmill mat (affiliate link) to cushion the machine and the floor.

PRX Performance Folding Profile® Squat Rack (almost $1,000) This is a brilliant innovation for a home gym where space is a consideration. This weight rank pull out from the wall when you use it but takes up less than 4 inches when it’s pushed up and away. It’s the best system I’ve seen and has storage accessories to boot! Check out the site and watch the videos. It’s really amazing and a long lasting investment. Once I finished organizing my home gym, this is my next big purchase. Weigh work is important for us as we “grow wiser”. It keeps us youthful and strong. It can also help offset osteoporosis, balance/recovery issues and boost our immune systems!

For the Wanderer

Tesla Model 3 Performance ($66,990 fully loaded) There are, of course, other models and a range of configurations. Tesla is crushing it and if you happen to have some loose couch change and a penchant for clean vehicles (and bonus…you get to save the environment too!) then you should definitely check this out. The mister has been drooling over this performance model since it first debuted and his gets delivered next week! If you or your person wants to go electric, get yourself a Tesla. Tell them @mobtowngeorge sent you and use George’s code for 1,000 miles of free supercharging when you buy a new Tesla – AND you can get discounts on Tesla batteries and solar power!

Sony A7R IV Mirrorless Camera Body ($3,498) and Sony FE 20mm F1.8 G Lens ($898) Up your travel gear to include a truly phenomenal camera to capture your memories. For this recommendation, I turned to my professional photographer friends. This 61 MP, full frame, back illuminated CMOS sensor camera and lens combo is the ULTIMATE in travel photography. Lightweight and compact with the biggest image sizes in the industry! These photos are beautiful and HUGE!

You can find deals on the site I linked, and probably elsewhere. The mister swears by supporting and buying local. Service Photo (in Baltimore) is independently owned and has been in business since 1948. 100% of their staff are professional photographers! They can answer any questions you might have!

For the Jewelry Lover

John Hardy Legends Naga 10.5 MM Necklace ($3,200) The Naga Legends dragon jewelry is some of my favorite. I have bracelet and ring versions but not a necklace. I’ve never quite been able to pull the trigger. There are other versions, ones without gold or ones without articulation and their prices vary. I think this is a stunning piece that will definitely turn heads. In all the time I’ve been enamored with these, I’ve never seen them on anyone in real life. That makes this a pretty special piece.

Rolex Submariner Date Watch ($9,000) It’s a classic purchase you can’t go wrong with. Though I personally favor the thinner, more elegant watches of Patek Phillippe, I find that the heavier duty more masculine Submariner is favored by more men (in my totally informal poll!).

For the Patient Person

I should probably start by saying that I am NOT a very patient person. But sometimes the perfect gift is worth waiting for. A mere $1,000 deposit will reserve a pre-order for your recipient!

Damon Hypersport Arctic Sun Electric Motorcycle ($40,000) This baby is available in pre-order and not yet in production for delivery – but it’s a stunning 200 HP, 200 MPH, 200 mile rang all electric motorcycle. If your special someone wants to secure their Cool Kid status in the electric/motorcycle circles, this is the buy (pre-order) for you!

Oh how I wish I had an unlimited gift budget so I could spoil everyone in my life. Sometimes it’s still just nice to daydream. But seriously, if you have so much money that you don’t know how to spend it, let me know! I’m for hire as your personal gift shopper – for the right price!
